Who we are
Diana
Founder/Principal Music Teacher
From the very young age of eight, I knew that my passion was piano. I grew up in Malaysia surrounded by music at the Yamaha Music School and I achieved my AMEB A.MusA (Associate in Music Australia) Diploma in piano performance in 2003. During this time, I taught at the Yamaha Music School and the Children’s Music Jamboree holiday program, as well as engaged in private piano tuition.
When I moved to Australia to advance my tertiary studies, I spent a year under the tutelage of Alexey Koltakov, internationally acclaimed concert pianist, in the Australian Institute of Music, Sydney. I then studied under Len Vorster, renowned pianist and artistic director of various Australian programs and ensembles, at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, the University of Melbourne.
I received my Bachelor of Music in 2008 and Master of Early Childhood Teaching in 2011 from the University of Melbourne. Since living in Australia, I have taught general music classes in a Mount Isa Kindergarten and a special needs school in Blackburn. I have also provided one-on-one piano tutoring at Piano World, and I have experience of private tuition for almost two decades.
I have a real passion and interest in teaching piano, theory, aural, sight reading, and musical knowledge. I prepare piano music and theory examinations (AMEB and ABRSM) and organise private music recitals and programs for my students to build up their motivation and confidence.
Since 2008, I have professionally accompanied recitals and examinations. I have also served in my church’s music ministry for the past 14 years. I love attending the opera, enjoying ballet, participating in sports, travelling the world, and my beautiful dog Lukas. I believe that well-rounded people need a well-rounded education and a diverse palette of interests.
I accept students of all levels. I have patience, innovation, and intelligence to support students to achieve the grade they desire. But above all, I am invested in providing the best quality musical education for all my students, so they achieve their fullest potential.
We are pleased to introduce Lukas, our gentle guardian. Lukas is a 12-year-old toy poodle who enjoys spending time with children and families. He warmly greets everyone upon arrival for piano lessons and has a friendly, endearing manner that makes him well liked by all.
